Prosecute The Prosecutor! Leticia James is a Criminal
New York Attorney General Letitia James clawed her way into the spotlight by launching a vicious witch hunt against Donald Trump during his presidency, most notoriously accusing him of financial fraud with zero substantial evidence. Here’s the kicker: James is now caught in a scorching federal investigation for mortgage fraud herself, facing serious charges that could land her in deep trouble. If found guilty, she must face brutal consequences like any ordinary citizen—no special treatment for this hypocritical prosecutor.
The Department of Justice is digging into a blistering referral from the Federal Housing Finance Agency, which accuses James of pulling a fast one on mortgage applications. She allegedly lied through her teeth on a 2023 application for a Norfolk, Virginia, home, claiming it as her primary residence to snag a lower interest rate, all while her New York AG gig demands she live in the Empire State. She’s also accused of fudging details on a Brooklyn property, passing it off as a four-unit building instead of five since 2001 to score better loan terms. And get this—she reportedly listed her own father as her husband on older filings to pose as a married couple. If true, these are no petty mistakes; they’re potential wire fraud, bank fraud, or flat-out lies to banks, all serious federal crimes.
The hypocrisy is infuriating. James built her career hounding Trump, dragging him through a baseless 2022 civil lawsuit claiming he inflated property values for loans. That sham case, which ended with a $454 million judgment in 2024, was fueled by her campaign rants calling Trump an “illegitimate president” and vowing to sue him daily. Trump called it a politically charged witch hunt, and he was right—no banks lost a dime, yet James pressed on. Now, she’s accused of the exact same playbook: faking property details for financial gain. Her audacity to announce a new Trump probe the same day her own scandal broke reeks of a desperate dodge, only fanning the flames of her duplicity.
If James is guilty, the public won’t settle for a wrist-slap. The DOJ must throw the book at her. Governor Kathy Hochul needs to boot James from her AG post immediately—her alleged Virginia residency stunt alone might violate state law. The DOJ should relentlessly investigate and, if the evidence holds, prosecute her for every applicable charge, from bank fraud to false statements. A conviction demands the New York State Bar Association strip her law license for betraying every shred of ethical duty. And if the crimes call for it, lock her up—federal fraud can mean up to seven years per count. James weaponized her office against Trump; now, she must face the same merciless justice she dished out, proving no one dodges the law.
